SYLVAIN BEUF: Exceptional saxophonist (Victoire de la Musique, Djangos d´Or, Talent Midem, etc.) at the twenty years of career skimmed off with the who's who of French jazz (Martial Solal, André Ceccarelli, Michel legrand, René Urtreger, Gerard Badini, Didier Lockwood, Daniel Humair etc.), Sylvain Beuf forged an image a quiet and modest gifted.
He learned the saxophone alongside André Beun and Daniel Petitjean at the ENM d'Orsay where he obtained a gold medal in 1984. He studied classical harmony with Pierre Lantier, jazz harmony at CIM with Jean-Claude Forenbach and Bernard Maury, the saxophone with Philippe Maté and Claude
Tissandier.
A tireless composer since 1990, he travels in the spheres of French and European jazz where he lets express his passion for writing and improvising. He recorded over one hundred and fifty original compositions and made commissioned works for different formulas instrumental. These albums were regularly praised by the press, Jazzman reviews, Jazz Magazine, Telerama magazine, Le Monde ect…

Unmissable leader, he has recorded ten albums under his name and more than 80 in sidemen., he plays regularly with his two groups in quartet and trio in French festivals: Coutances, Nice, Vienne, Paris ... and international: Mexico, Tunisia, Romania, Portugal, Lebanon, Senegal, Canada, United States, Japan, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Ecuador, Colombia.
Since 2018 he has been playing regularly at the Baiser Salé (Parisian jazz club) as part of a concert residence. With in others: Alain Jean marie, Victor Nyberg, Damien Argentieri, Fabrice Moreau, Philippe Soirat, Philippe Aerts, Thomas Beuf, Michel Perez.
Holder of the Jazz Master since 1987, he taught from 1998 to 2000 at the 9th Conservatory of Paris, from 2004 to 2006 at the CNR of Chalon sur Saône, and since 2007 coordinates the Jazz Department of the Versailles CRR.
